Lemon grass Ginger Chai / गवती चहा

Around the world Tea or Chai is very important part of many culture/tradition. Some of the famous tea are Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Egypt, Morocco,Turkey, English, french etc . Here in the above video I am showing you a method of making tea Indian way, that too infused with lemon grass( home grown) ,along with ginger & cardamom...aahhhh can't beat the taste & aroma of it.

I admit that growing up tea was the most difficult thing ever for me to get it right. It takes little practice and some years of experience to make a good Chai...and i can proudly say my tea is one of the BEST ! Its not me who is praising myself but yes some guests, family and friends have been patting me for some time. So presenting you my secret recipe ....

Now let me give you a little info about how i grown my lemon grass plant. I have store brought the plant, so it was easy for me to grow to this height in no time. You can find it in any local nursery or shout out to Amazon, they have everything & anything. Either get the small plant or if you have summer throughout get seeds whenever you ready to plant.

Ingredients :-

Water 2 Cups ( Serves 4 )

Milk 1 1/2 to 2 Cups

Sugar 3 Tbsp ( As per taste )

Tea Powder 3 Tbsp ( if you like your tea more strong, you can add extra if needed)

Cardamom Seeds or Powder 1 -2 nos

Ginger 1 small piece chopped or pounded .

*** Tea Strainer/ Filter - A must , you will find it any local Indian grocery store****

Method :-

1) In a pot ( Deep vessel ) Take 2 cups of water, add Sugar , Tea powder, Cardamom & ginger as mentioned in the ingredients above. Let it boil for 5 -10 mins on medium flame OR until everything combines well together( *** you can see it little darker in color **)

2 ) Once the above is done, Pour in Milk.

3) let everything combine well, make sure at this point you don't go anywhere as 100 % chance it to spill over. Let it boil once on low -medium flame & close the flame.

4) I tend to filter the tea in a medium size pot/ Kettle and then pour in the cups as needed.

Thanks for visiting :)

Do leave a comment to let me know how your tea turned out to be .
