Tuvar Dal receipe
First of all Excuse me for the video quality, i was not at all prepared to say what i said lol & background noises ..
Dal is rich with protein, and made almost daily in most of the household in india, though there are thousand different ways to make one. I too have different technique to prepare, sharing with you one such simple way.
Ingredients :-
Tuvar dal
Green Chillies
Cumin Seeds 1 Tsp
Mustard Seeds 1 Tsp
Turmeric Powder 1/2 Tsp
Ginger A small Piece
Garlic 2-3 cloves
Onion 1 small onion Chopped
Asafetida 1/2 Tsp
Cilantro / Coriander As per taste
Salt 1 Tsp As per taste
Curry Leaves 5-6 leaves
Tomato 1 Chopped/ Slit into half
Oil - Any oil 2 Tbsp
Water 1 Cup
Method :-
1 ) Boil the Tuvar dal in pressure cooker ( Around 5- 6 whistle,cooking time varies in all the pressure cooker), along with turmeric powder. . If you miss to add turmeric now, you can add while making the dal.
2) In a deep pan/Wok , Take Oil , add Mustard seeds - Let it crackle. Then add Asafetida , curry leaves & Cumin seeds -let it crackle. And add Chopped Onion. Add Salt - it will fasten the process of cooking the onion .
3) Cook for 10 mins until onion are cooked .
4) Add green chillies and Tomatoes chopped, little of coriander, cover and cook until tomatoes are cooked & oil separates .
5 ) Then add the cooked Dal and add 1 -2 cup of water & let it boil for 10 -15 mins on low to medium Flame.
Serve it along cooked rice or eat it with roti/ chapatti / fulka
