Tomato Peas Poha


I have shared the onion poha recipe previously , here is the slightly different version of poha.

Ingredients :-

  1. Poha / Flattened Rice 1 & 1/2 cup - (Serves 2-3 )

  2. Onion 1 Chopped

  3. Green chillies 1-2 ( As per taste).

  4. Boiled or frozen green peas 1/2 Cup

  5. Oil 2 Tbsp

  6. Peanuts 1/2 Cup ( As per preference )

  7. Turmeric Powder 1/2 Teaspoon

  8. Salt 1 Teaspoon

  9. Tomato 1 Chopped

  10. Coriander 1/2 Cup

  11. Lime juice 1 Tsp

  12. Cumin Seeds 1 Tsp

Directions :-

1) The most important step is soaking of the poha

* If you are using THIN poha , you only should sprinkle some water to make all poha wet completely and then follow the cooking method.

* Whereas if you are using THICK poha, wash 3 times to remove any impurities "without mashing/Very softly " and then either drain as in the picture ...

Or scoop all the poha one scoop at a time and squeeze tight using both the palm and remove all the water and set aside.

2 ) Take a Wok/ Kadai , heat OIL , add peanuts and fry until golden brown and set aside .

3) In the same kadai/ pan , add Cumin Seeds - Let it crackle.

4) Then add Onion and green chillies, turmeric powder & salt , cook for 5 mins .

5) Then add the chopped tomatoes r and cook again until tomatoes are soft. - 5 -7 mins .

6) Add the green peas ( boiled or frozen ) and little coriander and cook for 2 mins more .

7) Add back Poha and the fried peanuts and cover & cook for 2 mins ( until it steams.)

* Do not over Mix ...

8) garnish with Coriander leaves ....

Serve garma garam ...
