WHEAT DOSA / CHEELA

How about a healthy breakfast today ? It easy & quick. When in hurry make wheat dosa or cheela .

Ingredients:-

  1. Wheat Atta/ Flour 1-2 Cups ( as needed )

  2. Jeera /Cumin Seeds 1 Tsp

  3. Salt 1 Tsp

  4. Red Chilli Powder 1/2 to 1 Tsp ( as needed ) Or very thinly chopped Green Chillies

  5. Curry Leaves 5-10 Thinly Chopped

  6. Onion 1 small Thinly chopped

  7. Water 1- 2 Cups ( or extra to make a perfect batter)

  8. Oil 1/2 cup ( sprinkle as required )

* A whisker .

Method :-

1) Preferably in a round bottom bowl ,add Wheat Atta / Flour .

* ( Round bottom :- That's because its easy to mix everything together & nothing sticks to the corner )

2) Add Salt(Namak ) , Red Chilly Powder (Lal mirch powder) (Or you can add green chillies chopped very finely ), Cumin Seeds/ Jeera.

3) Add Very thinly chopped Onion and thinly chopped Curry Leaves.

* Thinly because its easy to make a circle while making dosa

4) Add Water little by little and using a hand blender or whisk or any tool - stir until there are no lumps and the batter should be just like dosa batter ...a flowing consistency not watery . And set aside for 15 Mins ..till this time you can make chutney of your choice or the one i have mentioned below.

5) After 15 Mins, Take Flat Pan /Tawa and let it be hot enough and then pour the batter 1 or 2 scoop at a time ,as needed and make a circle as shown in the picture .And sprinkle some oil (any cooking oil ) & let the flame be on medium to high heat and roast both the sides as shown in the picture . And then place them in the dish ..before you start with the next .

* A tip here is :- while making any dosa/ Cheela, Before pouring the batter let the flame be on low flame ...make circle and then increase the heat.

Below is the list of ingredients for Coconut Chutney :-

This chutney taste very well ,also along with any Rice Kanji ( Broken brown rice Kanji).

1) Take a Pan . Add 1 Tsp of coconut oil , add Dry red Chilly and roast until the color of it changes as the picture in right (below) & set it aside.

2) In the same pan add Onion..roast for 5 mins and then add curry leaves and then ginger and roast for 5 mins more or until the onion turns golden brown.

3 ) Add tamarind and saute for 2 mins and set aside.

4) Now roast the shredded or frozen coconut ..until golden brown as shown in the below picture. Let it cool down completely .

5) Take all the roasted and sautéed ingredients in a mixi jar (Grinder) - Dry Red Chilly, Onion, Curry leaves, Ginger, Tamarind, Coconut and add Salt and 1-2 Tbsp of water and grind into thick smooth paste.
