How to make Roasted Peanut Powder / शेंगदाण्याची भुकटी /मूंगफली पाउडर


This recipe is for friends who are new to cooking . This particular one might be very easy for the ones who can cook already. Just as "coconut and coconut milk " is used extensively in south indian recipes, similarly peanut powder is used in various maharashtrian recipes on daily basis.

Ingredients :-

Peanuts 1-2 Cups

Pan / Kadhai To roast

Grinder To grind

Method :-

1) In a pan , dry roast peanuts for 10-15 mins on medium -high flame.

2) Keep roasting , until the peanuts outer layer changes its color .when a slight discoloration is noticed ,thats when the flame needs to be put off. You can also see the discoloration in the below 2nd picture .

3) Once it cools down completely, squish with both the hands and remove all the skin .

4) If you check the video on the TOP how i moved the dish or the pan , so that all the peanuts is in one place and only the skin on the other half .. and then either remove or blow all the skin.

5) Or if its too difficult to do that simply remove all the White peanuts ( without the skin) one at a time (will be little boring job to do) , and put it in a blender and grind .

6) Store it in the air tight container and keep it in the refrigerator . It can stay for 1-2 months without getting spoiled. Ands use it in various recipes. eg :- Sabudana khichadi or any curries.
