Malabar Chicken Curry / Kerala Style Nadan Kozhi Curry /മലബാർ കോഴി കറി

As good as it looks, it tastes even better ! Super easy to prepare , when no time or guest to arrive, this will definitely get you lots of praise & cant go wrong with it !

Most or all of the south indian curries they taste better and gives a more authentic touch if coconut oil is used instead of any other.

Ingredients :-

** Coconut **

The above mentioned spice level and masala can be added or reduced as per your taste.

Method :-

1) Boil Chicken + Salt (1/2 tsp) + Turmeric Powder (1/2 Tsp)- for 4 Whistle in pressure cooker .

2) Dry Roast - Coriander Powder and Red Chilli Powder( 1 TBSP Each ) for 5-10 mins on medium flame until dark brown ( make sure to keep an eye, or masala will burn very quickly) and set aside .

3) In the same pan used for roasting masala - >>

Add coconut Oil ( 2-3 Tbsp) and once hot enough , add Mustard Seeds( 1 Tsp) - let it crackle.

Add 2 -3 Large Onion Thinly Sliced,

2-3 Green Chillies Slit,

1 Medium Sized Ginger Piece Chopped,

Few Curry Leaves ( 6-7 )

And cook for 5 -10 mins until the onion are golden brown in color.

4) Then add the 1-2 Tomatoes Chopped , Turmeric powder -1 Tsp and Salt -1 Tsp ( As per taste)

and cook for 5 mins on medium flame.

5) Once oil separates , add pre roasted masala( coriander and red chilli powder ).

and then add cooked chicken , and cook for 5-10 mins on medium to high flame.

Do the taste test & adjust the salt if needed.

6) Add in boiled potatoes-1-2 Cut into large cubes , combine all well .

7) Cook for 5 Mins on medium -high flame.

Add pepper powder - ( Optional/ As per taste)

8) Garnish with Coriander Leaves .
